How to use HCT trailers across Europe in Euro Truck Simulator 2

Euro Truck Simulator 2 HCT Trailers

HCT is illegal in all European countries except Finland, but there are ways to use HCT in all European countries.

Don't worry if you use HCT in another European country, you won't get your account suspended or warned.

This was answered by me directly from TruckersMP.

Before starting

Profiles with Steam Cloud applied and existing profiles connected to Worldoftrucks Online will not be applied, so you will need to create a new profile.

Run ETS2 in Steam Library.

Under Create a new profile, uncheck Enable Steam Cloud and create a new profile.

Choose a starting city from any Finnish city, purchase a truck from a truck dealer, and then purchase an HCT trailer and hook it up to your truck.

Quit the game when you have completed this.

Open Profiles located inside the C: \ Users\ UserName \ Documents \ Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder.

Inside your profiles folder, Open the profile folder created on the latest date.

Open save folder.

Open autosave folder.

You can see there is a game.sii file.

Drag and drop the game.sii file onto the SII_Decrypt.exe file.

Then Open the game_sii file with notepad.

You should Find the HCT trailer you purchased by trailer_def or chain_type.

If you have purchased multiple trailers, finding them by chain_type is faster.

Delete this paragraph country_validity[0]: finland.

fix it to chain_type: double. ◀Double or Single (For HCT trailers, B-Double is not recommended)

fix it to country_validity: 0.

fix it to source_name: null.

※Read this article to specify the source_name of your cargo by trailer type.

Once you have made your changes, save and start the game.

If you view the HCT trailer in the in-game Trailer Manager, you will see that the trailer type has been changed to Double.

You can now use HCT trailers across Europe.

To play the applied game on TruckersMP, select Enable Steam Cloud in the game's Edit Profile and link your www.worldoftrucks.com account.
